About

CASTOR is a nomadic platform for the presentation of contemporary art, bridging gaps between diverse artistic fields within Belgium. The curatorial collective consists of Daniel De Decker, Karel Op ‘t Eynde, and Camille Van Meenen.

Mission

CASTOR positions itself as an active connector within Belgium’s multilingual and regionally divided cultural landscape, responding to an urgent need for cross-regional engagement. The collective develops a program of decentralized duo exhibitions and public programs that unite artists from distinct artistic and cultural contexts.

Based in Brussels, a city that shows the possibilities and challenges of multilingual coexistence, CASTOR uses its location as a vantage point. From here, the platform reaches outward to link organizations, artists, and publics across the country and beyond.

What distinguishes CASTOR is its focus on bilateral encounters. The platform uses the structure of pairing between artists, between organizations, between publics, as a tool to overcome fragmentation through focused, intimate exchange. In doing so, CASTOR nurtures a growing network of relationships that contributes to a more connected and collaborative artistic field.
